Books are received in good condition. They send a quick reply regarding shipping, or problems with the order. Highly recommend this way of getting inexpensive reading materials. I have been purchasing books from Amazon.com frequently for over a year now. I am always pleased with their service.
Ever since then, I've avidly added to my library each volume annually. The Guinness Books are part of what I call my triple crown. I love the guinness books. Each year, I look to complete my triple crown, and usually do.Another thing I'd like to point out is that all of my Guinness Books are hardcover. This consists of the Guinness Book, Old Farmer's Almanac and The World Almanac. I have a large number of them. I seriously started collecting these books back in 1997.
I would recommend the Hardcover edition for easier reading. This book is not as good as the hardcover, but it does cover all the records, as far as I can see. It is great for my 8-year-old son.
This version is the 2008 Paperback Version. I've owned many. This book is the inspiration for the eating contests like the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating which is held every year on July 4th. Small and compact but somewhat dificult to read but as far as I can tell all the records are included. Sorry not Methusula. Guinness World Records is unique in that it was the first to certify all kinds of weird records.
Some records are continually broken. Like the Almanac it's updated every year. For example, Fastest Banana Eater. This book is published in many forms. If you want the hard copy or coffee table editions you'll have easier reading but will have to probably pay at least double the price. All the records are certified.
Then there are records like the oldest verified human being.
One isn't a duplicate of the other - they are entirely separate books. The glossy hardcover is the coffee-table version that lists far fewer records. If you're into this kind of book, then this is the Guinness paperback you expect. The two books aren't the same - and if the reviewer was expecting the same, he's nuts. This is the thick paperback that lists thousands of records.
